PHILLIPS (née Edmonds) Deirdre Anne Maureen "Didi" Deirdre Phillips (née Edmonds), age 81, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 25, 1942, in Northern Ireland, she spent her early years in Budleigh Salterton, Devon. At the age of six she went alone on a train to Belgium to go to school. Deirdre loved life, always took up a challenge and was an inspiration to all around her. On September 11, 1965, Deirdre married David Phillips. In the early 1970s, they moved to the United States, where they raised their three sons, Guy, Ben, and Roland. Deirdre was a pillar of strength and positivity, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter. She is survived by her husband, David; her sons, Guy, Ben, and Roland; her brother, Tom; and ten grandchildren. Her Grandchildren lovingly called her Didi and she was always there with love, laughter and support. Deirdre was known for her infectious optimism and her ability to inspire and uplift everyone around her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A celebration of Deirdre's life will be held on April 15th, 2024 at 11am London time at Saint Mary's Battersea in London. Deirdre's family invites you to join them in remembering a truly remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the power of positivity and love.
