Thanks to donations of Tesco gift cards by Hope Church, 100 Exmouth families found Christmas a little easier this year.
The church donated £13,500 in gift cards to 100 households in the town.
Working with the Open Door Centre, Exmouth Friends in Need and four schools in the town, Hope Church was able to make sure its gifts went to people who most needed help.
Faith Reynolds, a member of Hope Church, said: “Covid-19 has hit coastal towns hard, with many people working in sectors that have been locked down.
“Managing home-schooling and unpredictable requirements to isolate have added to the burden of juggling work and caring responsibilities.
“Thanks to the generosity of our church family, we’ve been able to offer a bit of a helping hand to over a hundred households, both families and individuals.
“We’re really grateful to the schools and community groups that helped us deliver the vouchers and Tescos for their support.”
