Detailed plans showing what some of the 350 homes at Plumb Park would look like have been unveiled by developers.

People are being asked for their views on the draft designs and lay-out of the first 264 homes at Plumb Park, Littleham, before an application is submitted to East Devon District Council later this autumn.

Littleham 2010, a Clinton Devon Estates company, has already been granted outline permission for 350 new homes – 40 per cent of which will be affordable and available to local people.

Now, homebuilder Taylor Wimpey has unveiled the first concept drawing of the homes.

Outline planning consent for the general design of Plumb Park and access via Buckingham Close was granted in June 2013.

This second ‘reserved matters’ application is for:

? Appearance - architecture, decoration and materials of roofs and external walls

? Landscaping - public spaces and how they relate to the new homes; how existing features are protected and enhanced; trees, hedgerows and banking.

? Lay-out - building lay-out in relation to existing properties in the area, and roads and open space lay-out.

? Scale - the size of the buildings

The plans are available to view at www.plumbpark.co.uk

There is also a questionnaire.

Andrew Tildesley, of Taylor Wimpey, told the Journal: “We are keen for neighbours to have a say in how this prestigious new development will look.

“Our plans have been inspired by the Avenues Design Statement and the arts and crafts style, which is a key feature of the area.”

Mr Tildesley added: “We believe that important developments such as Plumb Park can be enhanced if the people who know the area best are able to view the plans and help with the final application.”

Leigh Rix, head of property and land at Clinton Devon Estates, said: “We hope to be able to receive approval from the council in time for us to start construction on this exciting project in 2016 and provide a legacy of quality homes for the people of Exmouth and East Devon to enjoy for generations to come.”

The consultation runs until October 9, 2015.
