A specialist team from Exmouth has helped save the life of a pony that became stuck in a water-filled ditch in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service crews received a call about the trapped pony at 1.17pm on Saturday, July 23.
Control mobilised a specialist rescue team from Exmouth and a fire engine from Bridgwater to come to the animal's aid.
In order to rescue the pony, crews had to use the following equipment:
- Dry suits
- Telehandler
- Water and animal rescue equipment
They were able to successfully rescue the animal, which was given back to its owner and seen by a vet.
