A BUSINESS in Topsham is in the running to be named as the South West's Regional Restaurant of the Year.

Denley's Essence of India has been shortlisted in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA), which aims to highlight the best Asian restaurants throughout the UK that stand out from the crowd.

This isn't the first time that the company, which can be found on the High Street, has seen award recognition.

They were crowned Asian Restaurant of the Year in the West Country at the 2019 - 2020 and 2021 Asian Curry Awards.

Their website reads: "Conveniently situated on the High Street in Topsham near Exeter, Denley's Essence of India's delicious Indian cuisine is prepared by top chefs and served in stylish surroundings by friendly staff.

"Located in a former dairy, Denley's understated facade belies the tardis-like restaurant inside which can accommodate 50 people (and often does on the weekends) in sophisticated but comfortable surroundings."

The award ceremony is due to take place this Sunday (October 8) at London’s Hilton Park Lane.
