East Devon District Council is urging residents to park carefully on waste collection days to avoid access problems.
An EDDC spokesperson said: "Our recycling/refuse crews have encountered vehicle access problems in Elm Road, Exmouth due to parked vehicles.
"Please be mindful of this when parking on a collection day, so we can keep this essential service operating, thank you."
According to the council website, if you encounter a vehicle that you believe is in a place that could prove dangerous for other road users or pedestrians, you should contact the police.
For example, the vehicle could be causing an obstruction on a highway, busy road or over a footpath.
Abandoned vehicles should also be reported to your local district, city or borough council.
Highway Code rule 242 says: "You must not leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position or where it causing unnecessary obstruction of the road".
