A concert at St Peter's Church in Budleigh Salterton raised nearly £900 towards the upkeep of the building.
The Exeter Temple Salvation Army Band and Songsters returned to the church on Saturday, April 20, following their successful concert there last spring.
There was a queue outside the church before the doors opened, and around 100 people attended the performance, which included a cornet duet, solo singing and audience participation. Rev Jean Burrows described the event as 'a joy'.
As well as the £900 raised through ticket sales, a retiring collection raised more than £400 for the people of Gaza.
The concert was organised by the Friends of St Peter's Church, who were delighted with the performance and the successful fundraising.
