Stuck on what to eat for your lunch? Well, you may be able to pick up discounted food from your favourite eateries across East Devon that have joined forces with a mobile app in the fight against food waste and hunger.
The Too Good To Go app offers discounted prices on foods which are to be thrown away by companies at the end of the day. Download the app onto your smartphone, and search for your town on the map, you will then get search results for places near you where you can pick up surplus food companies will just throw away at the ned of the day.
Restaurants, cafes, and stores across the conurbation have joined the Too Good to Go App, which helps to puts surplus food into the hands of hungry customers.
Too Good To Go has claimed that more than 1/3 of food is wasted, and the company is fighting to change that statistic.
The app allows users to secure ‘magic bags’, containing a mix of left-over meals, baked goods or groceries, that would otherwise be thrown away at the end of the working day.
The app is designed in order for businesses to cut down on food waste, it can also be good for residents feeling the pinch during the cost of living crisis.
The bags are sold for a small fee and can be collected at a time as given by the business. The Daily Echo has put together a list of some of the places offering the Too Good To Go service across East Devon.

A bag from Southern Co-op Exmouth Exeter Road gets you a selection of in-store bakery items from pastries to rolls and bloomers, cookies doughnuts and brownies.
Southern Co-op Brixington Parade offers a bakery bag and groceries.
Coffee #1 Sidmouth offers a sweet and pastry bag and a mixed bag.
SPAR Sidford offers a selection of fruits, vegetables, cakes, pastries, snacks, fish and meat.
A The Coffee Bank in Ottery surprise bag may include pasties, sausage rolls, cakes, pastries and maybe a sandwich.
Dolce Vita Ottery could get some desserts, waffles shakes and bakes.
Starbucks EG Honiton and Starbucks EG Axminster gives you wraps, bagels, paninis, salads, sweet treats, yogurts, juices, snacks and pastries.
