MP for East Devon Simon Jupp writes for the Journal.

It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve you as your MP.

I am proud of what we have achieved in Exmouth. We’ve secured millions of pounds from the Levelling Up Fund for the Dinan Way road extension.

I helped many people access financial support during the pandemic and successfully campaigned for funding to protect Exeter Airport, secured a new police station for Exmouth, and campaigned for support for tourism and hospitality businesses.

And as I have been saying in Parliament time and again, South West Water need to clean up their act and our water, and I want them to speed up their planned £38 million investment into Exmouth.

When I was elected in 2019, I set up a dedicated local office in Exmouth that is open to the public and have held surgeries, making it easier for residents to speak to me for advice and help.

At the next election, David Reed will be the Conservative candidate for Exmouth in the new Exmouth and Exeter East constituency. David is a former Royal Marine with strong family links to our area.

The general election will be held on 4th July. The current East Devon constituency has been abolished following a review of parliamentary constituency boundaries.

I will be standing for where I live in the new Honiton and Sidmouth constituency. I have been out on the doorsteps again all this week to speak to people about the issues that matter to them.

If re-elected, I will focus on local healthcare, housing for local people, protecting our environment, supporting Devon's farmers, and much more.

A vote for Labour, the Liberal Democrats, Greens, Reform or Independents will only help put Sir Keir Starmer into Number 10 – a man who twice backed Jeremy Corbyn to lead our country.

David Reed is working hard day in, day out to demonstrate to everyone in Exmouth & Exeter East why their vote is safe with the Conservatives at the general election and beyond. We’ll make a strong team for our area. We’re not taking a single vote for granted.
