Great Western Railway (GWR) trains are currently not running between Exmouth and Exeter, after an 'emergency incident at Topsham this afternoon (June 4).
The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth. GWR says all lines are currently closed to allow them to safely carry out their work.
Trains will be cancelled, delayed or revised until around 5pm this afternoon. Check before you travel using the National Rail Enquiries website and see more information on the GWR website.
Passengers are asked to use your train ticket on Stagecoach Bus routes; Route 57 between Exeter (Bus Station), Topsham (Station), Exton (Stop on A376), Lympstone (Stop on A376) and Exmouth (Parade).
Route B between Marsh Barton, Exeter St Thomas (Leisure Centre), Exeter (High St) and St James’ Park (Pennsylvania Rd).
Route H between Exeter (St David's), Exeter (Central) and Digby & Sowton (Station).
Routes I and J between Exeter (High St), Polsloe Bridge (Tarbet Ave), Digby, Newcourt (Newcourt Way) and Exeter (High St).
A GWR spokesman said: "Local bus ticket acceptance is now in place between Exeter St. Davids and Exmouth. During this disruption if you wish to use local buses as an alternative means of transport and the local bus is not accepting GWR tickets please purchase a ticket on the bus, keep it and send it, together with your train ticket, to us to claim for a refund."
