An Exmouth school is turning its swimming lessons into sea survival skills.
Littleham C of E Primary's Year 6 have started a four-week course run by LED Exmouth to adapt their swimming pool skills to the natural environment.
Headteacher Mr Paddon said: "Learning to swim is such an important skill and to then be able to apply it to different types of environments is key - particularly for pupils who live close to the sea like ours.
"We are so grateful to LED for running this course, which is providing our pupils with life-long memories and new confidence.
"We are passionate about developing our pupils in all areas and 'Swim to the Sea' is a great example of this.
He added that the children are 'loving' the sessions and teachers at the school are already seeing marked improvement.
