Exmouth in Bloom were out in force in The Strand at the weekend, weeding, litter-picking and generally tidying up.
They collected a large bag of rubbish from the undergrowth, washed graffiti off seating and weeded the Spirit of the Exe boat in the Palm outside seating area.
They also created a memorial for Alba, who worked at Sundowners Café. Alba had loved sunflowers, so her friends asked if they could plant sunflowers in the dinosaur paddocks opposite the café. They donated the plants themselves and will take responsibility for watering them, as this area is never artificially watered.
Meanwhile, other members of the group finished off weeding Manchester Road and the Haldon Surgery garden.
After the session a member of the public gave Exmouth in Bloom a donation to pay for cake with their coffee in appreciation of the work they do.
