A concert of choral music has raised £1,000 for Budleigh Salterton and District Hospiscare.
The Rock Choir East Devon joined forces with the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir for the performance in St Paul’s Church Honiton on June 22.
One of the organisers, Penny Kurowski, said: “Both choirs performed magnificently on the night with a beautifully varied programme.
“Their rendition, as a joint choir, of ‘Hallelujah’ was both powerful and emotional. The finale Queen songs of ‘Don't Stop Me Now’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ had the audience dancing in the aisles!”
The organisers send their thanks to anyone whose help contributed to the event, either practically or through the donations of raffle prizes etc. They especially send gratitude to the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir and its MD Matt Jeffrey, the Rock Choir East Devon and MD Carey Camel, and to Reverend Tracey at St Paul’s Church.
All the money raised will be used to help provide end of life care to patients registered with Budleigh Salterton Medical Centre and Woodbury Surgery.
