Organisers of last month’s Exmouth Classic Vehicle Show have announced this one-day event raised £1,996.54 for Devon Air Ambulance as their chosen charity.
The Morris Minor Owners Club Devon Branch (MMOC) and Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club are the joint organisers of this annual event, which this year celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Despite the unpredictable weather over 250 classic cars and motorcycles lined up on the town’s Imperial Recreation Ground. This included displays by various local clubs such as the MX 5 Owners Club Devon Region, PT Cruisers Club, Teignbridge Classics, Torbay MG Owners Club and the XR Owners Club.
MMOC spokesperson Nickie Tilley, said: “The generosity of show visitors and vehicle exhibitors enabled us to collect this amount for our chosen charity, which we are very grateful for. The display of classic motorcycles, cars and light commercials created something for everyone to enjoy, with the clubs adding further diversity. Thank you to everyone for coming along to support us.”
“So many of our visitors comment on how friendly and welcoming the Exmouth show is and how it has become a firm favourite on their calendar of motoring events to attend.”
The first Exmouth Classic Vehicle Show was held in 2004 and since then has grown in popularity each year. In 2010 the organisers chose Devon Air Ambulance as their charity to raise funds for through voluntary donations made on the day in the official collecting buckets and the sale of raffle tickets. To date more than £14,000 has been raised at this event to support the vital role of Devon Air Ambulance.
