Exmouth Town Council is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Tourist Information Service.
The council celebrated the milestone at an event at A La Ronde, where they thanked the volunteers and reflected on the service’s journey.
The service has been a vital resource for both visitors and residents, providing information on attractions, events, and activities.
It began as a seasonal initiative in 2014, operating from a summer house on The Strand.
Over the years, it has grown into a year-round operation with permanent premises in the heart of Exmouth.
The success of the service is largely down to the dedication of 15 volunteers, who have been instrumental in the growth of the service.
Their local knowledge, friendliness, and passion for Exmouth have made a significant impact on the town’s tourism experience, and the service has become a key pillar in the town's support for tourism and community engagement.
Lisa Bowman, town clerk of Exmouth Town Council, said: "We are extremely proud of the growth and success of the Tourist Information Service over the past 10 years.
"From its modest beginnings to the thriving operation it is today, this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers.
"They have helped to make Exmouth a welcoming and informative destination for everyone who visits."
The service has not only provided assistance to countless visitors but also played a role in promoting businesses, attractions, and events, fostering a strong connection between Exmouth and its surrounding areas.
Looking to the future, the Tourist Information Service remains a cornerstone of the town's commitment to tourism as Exmouth continues to attract visitors from near and far.
With plans to further enhance its offerings, including digital services and more partnerships with local businesses, Exmouth Town Council is excited about what the next decade will bring.
