A family has started a fundraising page to raise money for their friend's son who is currently battling cancer.
Kayleigh Jackson has organised this fundraising appeal on behalf of Keri and James, as their 13-year-old son Jack battles Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Jack was initially misdiagnosed with Glandular Fever, but after months of persistent symptoms and further tests, the family received the devastating news.
Kayleigh says she launched the fundraiser to ease the financial burden as Keri and James will need to take time off work for Jack’s treatment while also supporting their 6-year-old daughter, Sophia.
Here is a link to the GundFundMe page, which anyone can donate to. They have currently raised £1,830 raised of their target of £2,000. https://www.gofundme.com/f/cj728-help-jack-beat-cancer
Kayleigh added: "Jack turned 13 this year, and after some mild symptoms his parents took Jack to the doctors and at first it was believed he was recovering from Glandular fever.
"After a few months and some more symptoms, his parents took him to the doctors again where they were sent straight to hospital.
"Unfortunately the hospital did not believe it was anything serious and despite his blood results showing worrying signs, they were still advised it was nothing to worry about.
"Both Keri and James pushed to get answers and, finally Jack got a scan and further tests and they were then told the news no parent wants to hear.
"Treatment will begin imminently, and whilst Keri and James would never ask for help, I felt as their friend I would reach out on their behalf to see if anyone can spare anything at all to ease any financial worries."
