Littleham Stream and Exmouth's bathing water could turn green on Tuesday (October 22), as the Environment Agency carries out tests.
It takes place from 10am, you may see a hive to activity from South West Water, the Enviornment Agency and Exmouth Town Council as water samples are taken in Exmouth bathing water sampling point and the Littleham Stream.
One of these tests took place in June 2023 at Exmouth Beach next week to show residents the location of the storm overflow discharge point.
The dye entered the network and then discharge where the storm overflows discharge in the River Exe. It will take some time for the dye to move through the network. The test failed to come out where they expected.

SWW will use fluoroscene dye in the test, which is bright yellow/green. Which is harmless to water quality and wildlife it has the potential, though unlikely, to show on any swimmers or animals that come into contact with the dye.
In a post on Facebook, Exmouth Town Council reminded residents it was taking place. They said: "This is a reminder that the Environment Agency will be carrying out dye testing today from 10am at the Exmouth bathing water sampling point and the Littleham Stream. We kindly ask for your cooperation in avoiding the site during this time to help the team work safely and efficiently.
"Thank you so much for your understanding."
