A youth club night proved a "spooktacular" success with its Halloween-themed event.

The Budleigh Youth Project's club night at Venture Hall on October 26 was attended by youngsters from across the area, who all "fully embraced the Halloween theme".

The night was filled with activities and games, including a Mystery Box Challenge, where participants had to guess the contents of several boxes while blindfolded – much to their amusement.

The club night also had a fancy dress competition, which saw the young people arrive in an array of costumes.

Molly and Leyla were crowned joint winners, dressed as Harley Quinn and a vampire respectively, while Jake's Beetlejuice outfit earned him the runner-up spot.

Youth workers Roxanne and Nikki, who organise the weekly club nights, said: "It's wonderful to see the children fully embracing the Halloween theme and having such a fantastic time."

They also thanked the young leaders who volunteered their time to help run the club nights.

Budleigh Youth Project is open to young people in Years 5 to 8, who live in Budleigh, East Budleigh, Otterton, and Bicton.

The weekly club nights, which run during term time, provide a "safe and engaging environment" for the youngsters to socialise and take part in activities.

The club nights take place every Thursday during term time at Venture Hall.

New members are welcome to join.
