A primary school is celebrating a series of sporting achievements.

St Peter's Primary School, in Budleigh Salterton, has seen success in cross-country and touch rugby, which the school says reflects the "dedication and teamwork" of the pupils.

The Year 5/6 girls' cross-country team became East Devon Cross Country Champions for the second year running.

Tilly and Jemima, both in Year 5, finished 2nd and 3rd overall, with Alisha, Isla, Katie, and Bels not far behind.

The Year 5/6 boys' team also performed well, finishing 4th.

The school's touch rugby team also came in 1st place at the Exmouth Touch Rugby Tournament.

The school said the children "displayed great teamwork and skill" in the round-robin tournament.

Headteacher, Mr Steve Hitchcock, said: "We’re really proud of all the children for their effort and commitment.

"These results reflect not only their hard work but also the benefits of regular exercise, which is a key part of our daily routine."

The school said these successes highlight the "positive impact of regular physical activity, including our daily run, which encourages fitness and wellbeing throughout the school."
