Devon sailors and water enthusiasts can start looking forward to special date in the racing calendar with the Torbay Royal Regatta over the weekend of August 19-22, and entries are now open for competitors to register their interest.
Three days of racing will see the IRC fleet competing for the prestigious Addison Gold Cup. There will be prizegiving for all classes after two days of racing in addition to an overall prizegiving after racing on Monday, August 22.
Regatta time has been a highlight of the summer season in Torquay for over 200 years and was the first yachting regatta in the country to be granted royal patronage.
This year, and at the same venue, the club will be hosting two Dinghy Regatta’s. The English Riviera Dinghy Regatta June 11 -12 and the Torbay Dinghy Regatta October 8 – 9.
