Graham Jones created a route to avoid main roads and the secret is to ride slowly, but when he got near to Bristol and found he needed an additional eight miles to achieve the hundred, he went on, despite a bee sting in his ear.
This was his 100th ride of over 100 kilometres in the last ten years, and completed on his recently renovated Raleigh Clubman the same bike he used 10 years ago.
Our time trial riders had improved results this week with times as follows, the photo showing Clive Heard with his head tucked down into full aero position. Clive Heard 27'16" Jonathan Read-Bone 28'00" Neil Miller 27'47" and Rex Stidwell 27'42" .
Richard Gorst continued his excellent form by achieving 8th place in the vets section first round of the National Championships held in Cornwall and then followed that up with 3rd place in the Southern Region Cross Country championships at Fareham on a twisting undulating course.
