Exe Sailing Club has released their programme schedule for the 2021 season, obviously dependent on Covid restrictions.
It all starts with the pre-season cruiser meeting on March 28 and then the action will hopefully get underway in the cruiser and dinghy classes from early April.
While it is great news to see programmes in place for the spring and summer, it must feel like a million miles away for sailing enthusiasts at present.
Despite the obvious outdoor nature of the sport, guidance from the Royal Yacht Association and Exeter Port Authority means Exe Sailing Club is completely closed at present, including the slipways.
Exercise is permitted and should be taken locally once per day, but the Club has reiterated its view that travelling to the Club and / or working on boats does not fit in with the spirit of lockdown and should be avoided.
