The Exmouth & District Snooker League started their new season with the same six teams as before, except that Conservative Club have relocated to the Police Social Club as the Police ‘D’. 

They took to their new home by beating the Police B five frames to nil. Three of the five wins were by close margins; Iain Callander 89-83, Craig Wilson 44-43 and Kevin Proctor 76-66. Andy Daniels 44-4 and Dave Lance 97-65 had more comfortable victories. 

Defending champions Police A lost to their close rivals of last season, East Budleigh ‘B’. Carl Rowsell 79-26 and George Webster 84-55 had them 2-1 ahead, but, Jamie Gulliford 57-38, Mervyn Long 59-17 and Duane Greenslade 52-33 prevailed at the close. 

Steve Vittles 70-69 and Bert Savage 54-42 won the opening two frames for East Budleigh A before Barry Bentley secured the match-winning 4th, 60-44, against the Police C. Bob Alexander 68-18 and Paul Peake 73-43 replied for the visitors.
