After the Exmouth Snooker League reached the halfway stage of the season, East Budleigh ‘B’ top the table by four clear points.
Following their 5-0 whitewash of the Police SocialClub ‘B’, Jamie Gulliford 53-40, Duane Greenslade 68-42, Stu Laws 71-37 beat stablemates East Budleigh ‘A’ after Bert Savage, 42-28, won the opening frame.
Hot on their heels are the Police ‘D’. Recovering from the 4-1 loss to the Police ‘C’, John Sharland 81-70, Craig Wilson 79-41, Kevin Proctor 69-43 and Dave Lance 75-43 were denied maximum points by Mike Delahaye 80-58 of 4th, place Police ‘A’.
Third in the ratings are the Police ‘C’ despite losing to near neighbours, Police ‘B’. Terry Brown 49-33 and a black ball steal from John Parrott 61-48 brought them level with Terry Merrick 44-17 and Dave Thomas 49-42. But, the deciding frame went to Phil Rowsell 70-58, winning the third black ball finish in this gripping encounter.
