As the Exmouth Snooker League resumed play into the second period of fixtures, East Budleigh ‘B’ opened up a six-point lead in the table.
Jamie Gulliford 64-49, Shaun New 58-54, David Freer 64-63 and Duane Greenslade 60-30 beat the defending champions, Police Social Club ‘A’.
Police ‘C’ are third after John Evens 58-41, Eric James 76-25 and Bob Alexander 60-40 beat the current leaders, following on from their win over East Budleigh ‘A, through Eric James 49-24, John Parrott 90-53 and John Evens 70-26 overcoming the loss of the opening two frames to Steve Vittles 87-46 and Bert Savage 69-24.
East Budleigh ‘A’ are bottom despite beating second place Police ‘D’. Bert Savage 81-23 and Steve Vittles 57-21 had to wait for Barry Bentley’s decider 70-16 after Kevin Proctor 70-57 and Dave Lance 70-57 drew level.
Police ‘D’ have lost both their matches in the New Year with only Craig Wilson 65-40 and Kevin Proctor 68-53 winning on the Police ‘B’ table. Bob Horton 56-21, Terry Merrick 70-33 and Phil Rowsell 77-38 sealed their 4th win, as Bob Horton 83-39, Dave Thomas 71-50 and David Binmore 86-74 snatched victory from the jaws of defeat from Mike Delahaye 71-44 and Rob Pow 74-62 of the Police ‘A’.
