It was goals galore at East Budleigh last Saturday as Player of the Match Ben Wilks helped himself to a hat-trick in a thrilling 7-4 win for the reserves over Cheriton Fitzpaine.
It was the visitors who struck first before the Jays took control. Ryan Britton and Dan Atkinson both hit the woodwork before Nathan Penhallurick followed up a shot from Ross Bright.
The away side converted their second shot on the half hour, but Wilks restored parity on the stroke of half-time. Eight minutes after the restart, Wilks lashed in number three before a good team goal was finished by Penhallurick.
Goals from Will Price, Atkinson and Wilks made it seven, with the visitors adding a late consolation.
East Budleigh 1sts enjoyed an excellent 4-2 win at Newtown. Budleigh began well and when Jack Greenslade hit the upright from a free-kick, the ball fell kindly for Brad Hill to convert.
The hosts were level by the break and after a slow start to the second period Budleigh were trailing. Player of the match Greenslade levelled the scores with a well stuck 25-yard half volley. Joe Bowden put his side ahead before Hugo Demetre sealed the win with an excellent header.
