The fabulous Budleigh Runners were instrumental in organising a charity run in aid of the local RNLI stationed in Exmouth.
Budleigh runners’ chair Debbie Newson galvanised club members to take part in either the long route from Exmouth to Budleigh and returning to Exmouth along the coast path, or the shorter option of the run from Budleigh to the lifeboat station. She also came up with the title of the run, RuN for LIfe which has the initials of the RNLI included.
If members could not take part, they were encouraged to visit the RNLI open day.
Debbie said: “The club really took this worthwhile charity to heart and donated money, plus took part in the day’s activities. It was a great success and we hope to do it again in the future and make it bigger and better. As a running club, we like to support local charities when we can. Over £500 has been raised for the RNLI, which is fantastic.”
Budleigh runners have also just finished its yearly couch to 5K course, which has generated lots of new members. If you would like to join us, visit the website and drop us a message. We have a pace for everyone.
