In their Devon & Exeter Football League, Division Three match last Saturday, Budleigh Salterton 2nds took full advantage of the game being allowed to take place to produce a ten-goal show, writes SpursTom.
The Robins welcomed Hemyock to Greenway Lane and the hosts were ruthless with their attacking play, going five goals up in the first period. It was a similar pattern after the break as they took it to 10-0, with the whole squad of 16 putting in a good shift, in the best passing display they’ve produced so far this season.
Seven different players got themselves on the scoresheet. Leading the pack was Greg MacMartin (3), followed by Jordan Wakefield (2). The other five goal scorers were Joseph Bagley, Connor Howe, Jack Manning, Daniel Tapp and Joseph Walker.
It could easily have been a ‘Baker’s Dozen’ of 13-0 as the end result, but the offside flag came to Hemyock’s rescue, though this did not dampen Budleigh’s day.
