Budleigh Salterton cruised into the next round of the Devon Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over The Windmill club from Plymouth, writes Alan Beer.
After a quiet start to the game, Budleigh gradually began to assert themselves and force the visiting custodian into some quality saves but he was finally beaten ten minutes into the second half, when Jacob Tinsley slotted a calm finish.
A delightful pass from Darren Everest created room for Oscar Walsh to jink past the last man and double the lead with a strike into the bottom corner. Tom Rapson pulled a goal back for the visitors three minutes before the end but the Robins quickly sealed the win with Jake Chudley finding the net.
Budleigh 2nds drew 2-2 at the University of Exeter 5ths, with James MacMartin and Jordan Wakefield scoring the goals in another entertaining fixture involving the Robins.
