Exmouth Snooker League leaders, Police Social Club ‘A’ were pushed all the way by the Police ‘B’ who lost the opening two frames on the black to Pete Abrahams 53-52 and Carl Rowsell 73-72. Bob Horton 79-3 and Dave Thomas 66-53 set up a deciding frame and George Webster prevailed to win 86-56.
Police ‘C’ are second after John Parrott 64-51, Paul Keates 43-35, John Evens 53-51 and Terry Brown 44-19 were denied a full house by Dave Thomas of the Police ‘B’. They then recorded the same winning score at East Budleigh ‘A’ through John Evens 66-46, Eric James 79-33, Paul Keates 63-34 and Terry Brown 72-39 after Steve Vittles won the opening frame 62-61.
East Budleigh ‘A’ were taken to five frames on the Police ‘D’ table. They led from Alan Farrant 61-40 and Steve Vittles 54-36 before Kevin Proctor 70-58 and Dan Brown 55-48 set up the decider. Mark Auton’s 5th, frame decider, 57-36 secured victory.
