Budleigh Salterton Ladies welcomed Appledore Women to Greenway Lane in the semi-final of the Devom Women’s Senior Cup, where the two teams put on a very close and well-fought affair, writes SpursTom.
It was the hosts who took the lead and a psychological advantage with a goal scored by Maisie Smith, with the assist from Kelsey Salter with the final kick of the first half.
Appledore came out strongly at the start of the second period, but though the Robinettes at times looked under some pressure, they too had attacking spells, so no one could relax throughout. At the final whistle it was Budleigh Salterton Ladies going to the Final thanks to that solitary goal, in a very sporting contest.
In the other semi-final, the team through to the final is Premier Division side Fremington Women, who knocked out SB Oak Villa Ladies 4-2 on penalties after the sides drew 2-2.
