A Brodie Frazer hat-trick was enough for Lympstone U16s to defeat Central and move back to the top of the table, writes Stu Kingston.
Chances were few and far between and when a goal did finally come, it was Central who scored. A loose ball in the box was hit on the half volley and powerfully tucked away.
The second half saw Lympstone asking more and more questions of the Rovers defence Frazer chased down a lost cause of a ball into the corner and dispossessed the Rovers left back. He then turned goalwards, battled his way through and fired home from an almost impossible angle.
Rory MacDonald later tried the same, his run was ended when he was bundled over to win a penalty, and Frazer got his brace from the spot.
Rovers started pressing more and would have equalised had it not been for Jamie Wilks' perfectly timed slide tackle that also brought applause from the opposition coaches and spectators.
As Rovers pressed, Lympstone countered, Alfie Kingston-Banks swept the ball out to Kieran Hurst who cut open the defence to set Frazer through on goal to bury the ball into the bottom corner amd complete his hat-trick.
