Exmouth Rugby Club has extended a massive thank you to all who supported a raffle at their 150 years celebration. The handsome sum of £2,500 was raised for WOODEN SPOON, the children's charity of rugby.
David Fowler, representing Wooden Spoon, spoke of the fundraising work, with support they give to local causes. All the money raised in Devon goes to local beneficiaries, recently including Vranch House & Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter and Mill Water School in East Budleigh.
David commented: “On behalf of the Devon Wooden Spoon Charity, I would like to start by congratulating Exmouth RFC on reaching its 150th anniversary.
“We are particularly grateful to the Club for nominating the Wooden Spoon Charity as the beneficiary of the raffle on the night, and we are absolutely delighted to hear that £2,500 was raised. We would like to thank generous guests and sponsors for their support, and to reiterate that all the money donated will go to support children’s charities here in Devon.”
The club also thanked The Bistro at Powderham Farm Shop, O'Neills Sportswear, St Austell Brewery and Element Karbon, who donated some super prizes, which also included tickets to see England v Ireland in March.
