Exmouth Town U13 Girls finally got a result that recent performances have deserved as they beat WBBU 3-1, writes Chris Eynon.
Town were awarded a free kick in the 15th minute and from 25 yards out, Carla Drysdale smashed it into the top corner. Five minutes later, the impressive Evie Ellis rolled her defender before unleashing a great finish off the inside of the post.
On the stroke of half-time, Ellis was at it again. Lily Pridam and Honey Rose Stroud Moxey played a neat one-two for Ellis to round the goalkeeper and slot home.
The visitors started the second half brightly but never really troubled Town’s backline, marshalled superbly by captain Xanthe Clarke, with goalkeeper Ellie Cuthell Williams also excellent.
Exmouth continued to threaten on the break with Olivia Bolton going closest to adding to the home sides advantage but to no avail. The visitors did manage a late consolation goal, as it ended 3-1.
