Eight Exmouth Harriers will be among the over 50,000 runners taking part in this year's London Marathon.
More than half a million people applied for a place, unfortunately not everyone was successful in their application.
There is just not enough space on the roads through the capital for that number of runners.
Eight Exmouth Harriers will be amongst the crowd of runners finishing in front of Buckingham Palace in The Mall after running the 26.2 miles through the streets of London.
It will be the 44th running of the iconic sporting event - the first was on March 29, 1981 with 6,255 finishers.
Harriers have a 'family feel' to the 2024 race with three members of the Kelly family (Alice, Sam & James) and two members of the White family (Oliver & Des) running.
They will be joined in the race by Carrie Webb (who is also running in the Boston Marathon in the USA on Monday 15th), Craig Butler and Adrian Vanstone.
It will be the 19th time that Des White has run in the London Marathon, including finishing 410th in the 1st London Marathon in 2.42.15 and 101st in the 1987 race in his PB of 2.26.17.
