It was a weekend to forget for Budleigh Salterton Veterans and Women.
On Friday at Greenway Lane, Budleigh Salterton Veteran Reds, came up against the table toppers of the Stitch2Print Devon County Veteran League, Division One.
Sadly, it was an evening to forget for the home supporters, not only was it a very wet night, the Budleigh Robins suffered a 0-7 loss against Inter City, who’s league record this season so far reads P8, W6, D1, L1.
They are a well organised outfit, full of running.
Budleigh tried, but they were out fought.
On Sunday, it was the turn of Budleigh Salterton Women to be in action, also at home where they welcomed Plympton for a Devon Women’s Football League Premier Division contest.
It did not go to plan for the Robinettes, for they were beaten two 2-5.
Kelsey Salter was on target with both strikes for the Robinettes.
This is the start of a busy period for Budleigh Women, with scheduled fixtures due on 08/05, 12/05, 15/05, 26/05, all away.
It is unsure if or when the postponed home game from 18/04 may take place, plus there is the match which was abandoned on the evening of 11/04, following injury to Budleigh’s Lucy Burch.
Finally, quickly a look at Budleigh Salterton men’s 2nd.
Having lost the two league matches played in April, there remain two league games to be fulfilled, against Bravehearts (29/04), and Heavitree United (04/05), plus Farway United in the Quarter-Final of the Grandisson Cup (to be arranged).
