Exmouth Harries posted some great results over the weekend.
On Saturday, May 4, Anthony Hatchard not only did some marshalling with his wife Lisa at the East Devon Round, but he got a last minute entry in the 1/4 Round and was 1st to finish.
It was 15.4 miles of mud from Blackberry Camp to Offwell near Honiton.
Anthony said afterwards “This is an amazing event and would be great for the club to support in future years.
"The Full Round is 110k and there is a 1/2 Round as well as the 1/4 Round”.
On Sunday, May 5, Douglas McCombie ran in the Copenhagen Marathon and finished in 4,461st place in a great time of 3.37.45, and in the process he set a new PB.
Douglas said afterwards “Happy with that and the medal too”.
Also on Sunday, Terry McKie exceeded his expectations when he finished the North Dorset Village Marathon in 3.54.13.
It was a picturesque race along country lanes starting and finishing at Sturminster Newton, and running through the Dorset villages of Hinton St Mary, Marnhull, Stalbridge, Todber, Stour Row, Margaret Marsh, West Orchard, Farrington, Child Okeford and Hammoon.
Terry said afterwards: “Always a proud moment for me when I'm wearing a Harriers t-shirt”.
Finally on Sunday, Jimmy Joy was Harriers' only representative in the Crediton Crunch, which was a bit of a mudfest we hear.
He finished in 16th place in 48.23 and was 2nd M60.
It was a multi-terrain run approximately 10K which is 90 per cent off-road; general footpaths, mowed grassland, private parkland with some quiet country roads.
Most of the first half of the run was on the Devonshire Heartland Way.
Jimmy said afterwards: “A great race; very welcoming; well marshalled; lovely countryside to run in; the bonus was lots of cake at the end”.
