Exmouth Town will be looking to complete their pre-season friendlies this week as their preparation for the new season continues, writes John Dibsdall.
On Friday, they welcome Southern League Premier side Poole Town to their Circle of Care Stadium, kick-off 7pm, whilst on Tuesday they make the short trip to old rivals Budleigh Salterton, kick-off 7.30pm.
The fixtures for the forthcoming season were released on Friday and Town have their first match at home on Saturday, August 10 against league newcomers Thatcham Town and will travel to Bideford on Tuesday, August 13.
Whilst their friendlies against Exeter City and Street were unfortunately postponed, Town were involved in a highly competitive match against Tiverton Town when honours were shared with Exmouth twice coming from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw.
This was another opportunity for the home spectators to see their new signings in action and once again they did not disappoint.
Ollie Knowles, showing all of his experience gained at a higher level, is a calming influence in midfield and the intensity and energy shown by midfielders Morgan Williams and Ben Griffith were rewarded by a goal apiece.
Jack Thorne looks to be forming an effective partnership together with Tom Bath and young goalkeeper Frankie Phillips gave another assured performance, as did Robbie Powell.
Much for the fans to enjoy and look forward to as joint Managers Kevin Hill and Dave Pearse formulate their plans for the opening game of the season, when Town welcome Street in the FA Cup on August 3.
