In a gripping match in the Stitch2Print Devon County Veterans League, Division One East, Dawlish United Veterans drew 1-1 with Budleigh Salterton Veterans Reds at halftime.
Budleigh pulled ahead to secure a hard-fought victory.
This was Budleigh's second game of the season, following their earlier loss at Stoke Hill.
Despite a disallowed goal for Dawlish, Budleigh displayed strong offensive play, secured the lead with a crafty lob by player Duncan Ward, and ultimately managed to win thanks to goals from substitutes Justin Broomes and Dan Atkinson.
More importantly, it was a deserved victory for a hard-working BSFC Vets squad.
The game underlines Budleigh's commitment and skill, boding well for their season campaign.
