Exmouth Town U14 girls advanced to the second round of the DGL Cup.
In a tense first-round match against Twyford at Maer Lane, a wet Sunday morning saw both teams initially struggle to find their rhythm.
However, it was Town's Evie Ellis who broke the deadlock with a neat finish, putting the hosts ahead.
Ellis then doubled the lead, half-volleying into the net following impressive wing play from Dentith.
The visitors managed to score just before the break, leaving the score at 2-1 by half-time.
After some motivational words from the coaches, Town dominated the second half but found it hard to breach a resolute defence.
Ellis completed her hat-trick with a composed finish after a well-executed midfield play, making it 3-1.
However, the celebrations were short-lived as Twyford quickly responded, bringing the score to 3-2.
In the final five minutes, Ellis netted her fourth goal, sealing the match and securing Town's place in the next round.
Ellis was named Player of the Week for her stellar performance, both on and off the ball.
The girls in blue will now look forward to their next challenge in the DGL Cup.
