After two rounds of the Exmouth Snooker League, Police Social Club ‘D’ are leading the table.
In their first match, Iain Callander 92-67, John Sharland 46-24, Craig Wilson 46-32, and Dave Lance 102-80 secured a victory against Police ‘C’.
They continued their strong performance with a 5-0 win against East Budleigh ‘A’, featuring Dion Newcombe 79-57, Craig Wilson 64-57, Dave Lance 60-24, Dan Brown 47-41, and Kevin Proctor 51-42.
Last season's wooden spoon holders, Police ‘B’, are in joint second place after a narrow 3-2 win over the reigning champions, East Budleigh ‘B’.
David Binmore 68-57 and Dave Thomas 81-68 gave Police ‘B’ a 2-1 lead.
However, Stu Laws 76(27)-44 and Shaun New 69-47 pushed the match to a deciding frame, where Phil Rowsell 70-64 clinched victory with a black-ball decider.
Police ‘B’ faced a setback in their next match, losing 3-2 to Police ‘A’, despite early leads from Terry Merrick 70-34 and Dave Thomas 56-12.
Police ‘C’ are currently in 5th place after a close match against East Budleigh ‘B’.
